The Exuberant Trust’s Showcase 2008, held on 10th January at the Music Centre, Bayards Hill School, Oxford, again showed the superb talents of previous Exuberant Trust award-winners, in a wide variety of genres. The trust is extremely grateful to Oxfordshire County Council for providing the venue free of charge for this event.

The Exuberant Trust now has a logo. The ‘flame’ design by Alessandra Mace, from Cherwell School, Oxford, was the winning entry from the logo competition and £100 was awarded.

The Pavilion Trust has been set up to finance the Pavilion Project at The Limes, Standlake. The Pavilion is a building that is to be used by Tom Nabarrow, grandson of Michael Graham-Jones, as a purpose built area to enable him to continue his career in Computer Science, following a skiing accident, which left him with severe neck injuries. The Pavilion Trust has received funding from various sources for this purpose.

The Exuberant Trust has received a donation of £10,000 from PA Holdings Limited, on the condition that it is used to assist in the construction or equipping of the Pavilion.

Following legal advice, the Exuberant Trust has decided to accept the donation and to send the Pavilion Trust a proposal stating that the donation of £10,000 will be given as a Debt stake and with certain conditions. Please note that Susanna Graham-Jones was not part of the Exuberant Trust’s decision to accept the donation, due to her family connections with this matter.

An excerpt of the conditions now follows:

“The Exuberant Trust will not be liable to pay for any further costs of maintaining and insuring The Pavilion, but would be entitled to a either a fixed sum or some proportion of the proceeds, if the Limes were to be sold at any time.

The Exuberant Trust will expect to be able to use the Pavilion, with reasonable notice, a specific number of times a year for fundraising events, as it would be more available and accessible for concerts than the Limes house, which has previously been used. The Pavilion will house the Grand Piano donated to the Exuberant Trust and can seat up to 30 people with room for more outside”.

The Exuberant Trust is extremely grateful to PA Holdings Limited for their generous donation.
