Jonathan Katz studied piano at Trinity College of Music, organ with Christopher Herrick, and harpsichord with Millicent Silver. Before studying Classics and Oriental languages at Oxford he was assistant organist at the St Matthäus church in Munich, giving his first major recital in Regensburg Cathedral in 1969. In addition to playing numerous solo and chamber recitals in England, Germany, Italy and the Netherlands he has pursued a career combining teaching, Indian studies and musicology. He is a Fellow of All Souls and St Anne's Colleges, Oxford, and the University's Public Orator.

Currently a third-year Classics student at the University of Oxford, Sophie Cheng plays the cello extensively alongside her studies, studying with Ulrich Heinen and Richard Lester. She has performed as concerto soloist and in chamber ensembles such as the National Youth Orchestra of Great Britain, the Ripieno Players of Oxford and the Oxford University Orchestra. She has also been the principal cellist of the Academy Chamber Orchestra and the University of Birmingham Philharmonic Orchestra.
